I would just like to say that while I had not counted on being appointed 
drop-dead-take-over-person, I really did ultimately enjoy i, and I received 
MUCH support from many people who were very forgiving of any mistakes that I 
might have made.  Remaining sane was easy. :-)   I hope someday to reprise 
the role as PRE-selected person-in-charge, when I can actually plan ahead.  
But first, European universities await!
