I went to the meeting, but noone there admitted to be a good note
taker. Elsbeth took a few notes and might post them later...
here is some of what i can remember:
Create a group to discuss dance musice information:
(I've already done this... to Subscribe send mail to:
sca-dance-music-subscribe at yahoogroups.com)
The focus of the group will be improving the pennsic pile for a while,
but after that, it should broaden out to dance music in general.
Peer review of music:
Pieces will be review by several groups for playability,
periodness (is it in original key, style befiting the time, are
there parallel octaves/5ths, etc) readability, etc...
Also looking at Versioning of different arrangements. (Version 1,
correction level 4)
Looking to try and review 7-10 pieces/month.
Dancemaster review of sound file once piece is hacked out. for
dancibility/repeat structure. (though much will be found in the
musical peer review)
Database stuff:
Getting computer version (noteworthy, finale, etc) versions as well as
midi versions. online. Scans where
Keep track of comments/ratings for all pieces.
Pile:
Goal for final pile revisions/additions to finish up around June. so
that it can be distributed.
Considering "Master copies" of pile to be kept at pennsic.
(from dance masters meeting: in a rolling bookcase that opens into
a chalkboard)
Perhaps have "update packets" rather than a new pile each year.
"Remove Hearts ease version 1.45 and replace with 1.49"
Use 11x17 trick to get up to 4 pages of music on stand with no
turning.
Try to standardize look/feel of music... clear copies, etc...
I'm sure i've ommited stuff.... not intentionally of course...
but it's a start... please add/correct if you were there and remember
differently.
