from what i've gathered, eric has a pretty close estimate about what
the "rent-a-floor" prices are.... $1 / ft^2 /day. (roughly)
the price diminished for longer rentals (the price is mostly set up
and hauling prices.)
Some of the places that i've talked to mentioned that they
*could* put it on leveled ground.
The "playground mats" that i've seen have also been rather expensive.
perhaps i'm not looking in the correct place.
(i have a school athletics catalogue)
it really looks like our best option (thus far) is going to be
building a stage with 2x4s and .5 - .75 inch plywood.
Our Theatre platforms are made of that and have put up with much
abuse. rough estimate would be 30ish for the plywood and 10ish for the
2x4s and hardware (which would be 1.25 ish a sq foot.)
say it takes 56 sections to do the 30x60 tent: $2240 - which might be
a reasonable price for *renting* the floor. (which is to say, storage
might not be an issue.... if we can make it "dissappear" at the end of
war.)
if we decide upon the battlefield area site, i'll need to talk to
coopers about truck-o-sand + tamper for war practive.
