it's actaully one of my peeves... I'm often put in the situation of
trying to teach with someone else teaching as well. I'm not talking
whispering clarifications either, full voice teaching , in different
parts of the dance, sometimes in the same set! I realize people
might think it's helpful, but i have had *many* people come to me
telling me they get confused, and despite the offenders being
asked/told not to do so, it continues. It's extreamly frustrating,
and i've lost my cool on more than one instance (and that really
bothers me). I admit i'm guilty of doing it as well, but have been
trying to catch myself... I used to think HitW was appropriate too. :)

In certain situations it's ok, like if it's been arranged for that to
happen, you're seperated by at least two sets, and it's clear who is
teaching which set. a dancemaster should be able to minimally handle
his/her own set and the sets immediately around that set.
(maria recommends teachers taking on sections of the room)
>How does this differ from in-set teaching?
well, for one it becomes clear who you are supposed to be listening
to... every set may not have the luxury of having an in set teacher,
and if they are seperated from the DiC by a set in a different part of
the dance doing a variation, much confusion could ensue. it also cuts
down on the number of people talking. I don't think she was saying the
teacher couldn't dance in one of the set they were teaching.
it's too early to think... i might reserve the right to change my mind
later.. ;)
