Hi Alexander!

How was life at the Ren Faire? Are you ready for a heavy fall here in th=
e
(ugh) Midlands? I will get a letter/article to you by the 10th, I promis=
e.
I'm waiting for some information before I can write what I want to inclu=
de
this time.

I do have a question for you and anyone else you can think of to pass thi=
s
on to. I am not terribly well-connected in bardic circles :D but am real=
ly
in need of a teacher or team of teachers for a special class at Coronatio=
n
(Sep. 19) By now you've probably seen my post about the A&S activities f=
or
that day, and you know what your fellow apprentice is up to. The autocra=
t
is an old-time bardic circler (hey, this word-play could be fun!) who has
fielded several complaints from people who are afraid to participate
because they feel that they don't know the "standards." The basic few
songs/tunes that everyone "should" know. Since I'm really new to the wor=
ld
of things bardic, I can understand this feeling. I rcall a conversation
between Broom and Maire at Jubilee that assumed that I intimately knew th=
e
tunes they were referring to.

I am looking for a class which could cover bardic "basics" such as standa=
rd
tunes (with handouts), the different ways a circle might be "run",
performance ettiquette, etc.

Please consider this request, and forward it to anyone who might be
interested. I think that this would be a way to break through to those w=
ho
_want_ to participate, but need a little direction and encouragement.
Thanks!

Gwyn
