yeah i cheat. i've always palyed the oud with a
longish stiff platt pick--about the same as i use for
mandolin.

that info on fret sizes is very usefull.

i tuned it up and it sounds great but i detuned it
untill i get the cracks glued and splinted if
necessary--i have neighbour with a godd woodworking
shop so i think i can use his clamps--you need very
big clampd for the body. it may not look perfect but i
love the sound. they are often exceptional sounding
instruments considering they are folk construction.
