Well, there is at least one Trouvere song that refers to the unicorn
legend: "Aussi comme unicorne sui," by Thibaut de Champagne, Roi de
Navarre. The song was given by Grocheio in the late 13th c. as one of
the prime examples of a "cantus coronatus" or song in the "high style."
