minstrel: fun with fipples

I cannot attest to that transposition, but as a former clarinet play and now
a pennywhistle player, I can attest that fingerings are pretty darn close
(without all the sharps and flats and buttons and whistles, no pun intended,
on the clarinet). The fingering for The Rakes of Mallow, starting on low F
on the Bflat clarinet is the same as starting on low D on a whistle, same is
true of starting on middle C on a Bflat clarinet and starting on G (three
holes covered) on a D whistle. I don't know much about recorders, still
trying to teach myself to play my alto one.
Just remember transposing music on the fly is fun!
Blessings!
