As a matter of fact I did not save the TI from a couple years back, due to 
the fact that I was not receiving TI a couple years back.
I noticed the majority of your examples were late period.  The argument I 
read of contrafactum being a form of hommage came from Songs of the Women 
Trouveres (Yale University, 2001), which of course is earlier period, so it's 
possible that both are accurate.
