When trying to identify a recording with a certain piece on it, I use the
Early Music FAQ's CD search. For things not released on CD, it also has an
option to include other media. It even divides them into separate "CD" and
"LP" lists for you.
It's at: http://www.medieval.org/emfaq/cds/
This large database provides contents for a goodly percentage of the
recordings, links to reviews and publishers where possible, credits for
each recording, publishers' numbers (e.g. "Legend LGD 024/5", which are
great for your local librarian to have as verifications for interlibrary
loan ordering), info on other recordings by the ensemble, and playing time.
Heck of a lot more than you'd even get from a very, very good library
catalog.
I did a search on the word "Trotto", checked the box to include LP's, and
came up with 48 CD's and 34 LP's in the search results. This one looked
possible: http://www.medieval.org/emfaq/cds/leg024.htm
