Thanks for that clue! I think I may have found it:
"Robin, par l'ame ten pere (Robin, by your father's
soul, do you know how to dance?)"

The Sherwood Consort have a version on their CD "Robin
Loves Me."

It seems to fit the description, being a dialogue
between Marian and Robin on his er, um, dancing
