It must be one of the songs from Adam de la Halle's "Le jeu de Robin et Marion"; I can't quite figure out which one from the description given. There have been a few published editions, though I'm not sure any are in print. Jean Beck a performing edition (English translation) in the 1920s; more recently Schira Schwam-Baird published a dual language version, with the melodies; there is another version, all in French, that I found in the University of Michigan Graduate Library. I'm afraid I don't have bibliographic details handy. Then theres Oeuvres completes du trouvere Adam de la Halle, poesies et musique, edited by C.E.H. de Coussemaker. I'm not sure any of these are still in print, but you might be able to find them if you have access to a good library. Ensemble Perceval did a CD of the entire play about 10 years ago--I don't think that's in print either. I do have photocopies of most of the tunes, so with a little more information I might be able to figure it out.

i am looking for the words and music to a song i found a few years ago. i believe it was the story of robin and marion for two voices and i seem to remember it being more of a rustic play. the tune i remember is a short bit limited to the first 5 notes of a diatonic scale, and i think one line might have been robin speaking to marion-'do you see how i (do the dance)'. the rest i remember is robin relating how he is proper in his steps and/or dress. the tune as i remember it is very light and pleasant to listen to. thanks, sap
