minstrel: Tibicen's SCA Early Music List

I am confused...If you are starting a separate list on "early music theory
and composition," then what is this list for (the SCA minstrel list). I was
lead to belive that a minstrel was a musician, so I thought that the
discussion of early music, the theory and performance of it would be the
topics of this list. Is it in fact a Bardic list? No offense against bards
(music is a part of their art in the SCA), but I thought that there was
another list for the "Arts of the Bardic." I know where I am from (Northern
Ansteorra) Bards and Minstrels are always mixed up (90% are bards).

I live and breath music and love early music (instrumental & vocal) and
think that it is down played in the SCA (especially around here were they
are almost anti-music). I am not trying to offend any one, but I am
wondering if I signed up for the right list.

Can someone clear this up for me please?
