minstrel: Latin: Classical or Church?

Greeting to the list!

I have found a wonderful, period song that I already
know how to sing: Veni, veni Emmanuel.  But how should
it be sung?

"Church" Latin: Veni, veni Emmanuel
or
"Classical" Latin: Weni, weni Emmanuel

Having heard it in church, of course, I'm more used to
the first.  But which is period?
