OK, what program are you using? NWC doesn't show you a hi-res formatted
picture of the music. (The print preview is very low-res.)
-----
I have NWC print the score to a file by setting up a fake Postscript printer
attached not to LPT1: but to FILE:. When I try to print it, it prompts me for
the file name. Call it "blah.ps"
Then I use GhostScript to view the file. GhostScript is a free postscript
viewer from Aladdin that originated in the Unix world, but has been ported to
a number of platforms. With GhostScript and one of the related viewers (see
their web page), I can convert the file to jpeg or bmp at high resolutions.
An addin allows exports to several other formats. To get it to gif takes
another step, though, because of that licensing thing on the most common GIF
compression format.
Another solution like this is to print each individual page to a file, as
described above, but name them "blah_1.eps", "blah_2.eps", etc. Some word
processing programs will allow EPS (enhanced postscript) files to be imported.
Generally, though, they do not show the EPS file on the screen but they
appear when you print them. This is because they rely on a bmp or tiff image
to be embedded in the EPS file for "previewing", and most print drivers do not
generate one.
I recommend the first step. If you try it and have troubles, email me and I
will attempt to help. If someone has an easier method than mine, please
discuss it here. Exchange of music is very relevant to, and desirable in, our
area of mutual interest.
I have noticed, though, that jpeg is inferior to gif for text, so if it is
important to have the words on the same page as the score, look into gif.
