Trying to turn a misfortune into a service....

I recently purchased copies of Geoffrey of Monmouth's
"The History of the Kings of Britian" (Penguin
edition) and Snorri Sturluson's "Prose Edda" (trans.
Jean Young) from my university bookstore. Both are
bright, shiny, brandy-new. Both cost $12.95.

It came about that I wanted to return the books, but
was informed that they were textbooks, and could not
be returned. I told them I was not taking those
courses, and they were not textbooks to me, but to no
avail.

So I have $26 of books I no longer need. I am willing
to offer them at discounted prices (how's 50% off?)
(plus shipping and handling) to any gentle who would
like them. Both date to the 12th century. "Kings of
Britian" is mostly noted for one of the first large
treatments of Arthur and his knights. The "Prose
Edda" is a how-to book for Icelandic skalds. (This
version includes only the 1st 2 parts of the "Edda,"
which explain a great deal of Norse mythology and the
stories behind some kennings).

Please respond privately if you are interested.
And don't buy anything from the University of Maryland
bookstore!

In service,
Teleri the Well-Prepared
