"Sumer Is Icumen In" (aka "The Cuckoo Song") is famous for being the
earliest surviving song written for six voices. Unfortunately, the only
sheet music I can find for it only gives the melody line which four voices
are singing as a round. Listening to a recording, I've figured out that
the fifth part is a baseline alternating between everyone's starting note
and a third down, with the words "Sing cuccu, nu" ("sing cuckoo now")
repeating over and over again. Can anyone tell me what the sixth part is?
Thanks!
