Not period or anything special, but just because I'm getting in a Pennsic
sort of mood....

With Singing To Pennsic We Go
words by Linette de Gallardon
melody based on traditional shape-note hymn

CHORUS:
	Come, open your eyes,
	My beloved, arise
And cast off all memories of woe.
	On this bright August day
	Come rejoicing away,
And with singing to Pennsic we go!

We have packed all our gear,
Tents and clothes, food and beer;
The piles did nearly reach the sky.
Filled our wagon too tall
But I think we got it all,
And with singing for Pennsic we fly.

We will ride many miles,
Many will be the trials,
But we'll dream of journey's end with glee.
What a cheer we will make
When we reach Cooper's Lake,
And with singing at Pennsic we'll be!

CHORUS

Gathered there we will see
East and Midrealm armies,
Standing proud in chivalry and might.
We will march on the field,
Keeping beat with sword and shield
And with singing at Pennsic we'll fight!

And nearby we will find
Merchants of every kind;
There'll be classes and courts and friends so dear.
And at night ‘round the fire
Ancient tales will inspire,
And what singing at Pennsic we'll hear!

CHORUS

T'will be hard to believe
How soon we must leave
Though to stay is what our poor hearts yearn.
But my love, have no fear,
There is always next year,
When we'll singing to Pennsic return!

But one year we will cry,
"We would far rather die
Than let this Dream fade away.
Some may call us insane,
But we'll ne'er be mundane,
And with singing at Pennsic we'll stay!"

CHORUS
