minstrel: Loch Lomond

Greetings good gentles,
             At a group practice we were discussing the references to 
spirituality in the chorus of Loch Lomond..... Does anyone know if this can 
be documented. One Lady mentioned that the high road was the Christian 
faith and the low road was the pagan faith..... Any comments?
