Additional verses to Sir Balthazar's "The Rising of the Star"
by Brendan O Corraidhe

The bards of Ansteorra are very long of wind
Their poetry has no meter and their stories never end
A tune they cannot carry in a bucket or a jar
But they'll revel until daylight and the Rising of the Star

We've got Duke Lloyd Von Eaker, who's mighty for his size
He shrugs off broken fingers and he'll mutilate your thighs
He'll not be taken lightly though he stands just five feet four
He's a viper clad in motley at the Rising of the Star.

We have got Duke Inman, whose name is known with fear
He's deadly with a broadsword but he's murder with a spear
He's won the crown (pause to count, now let's see...) X times now,
not even breathing hard
The Once and Every Other King at the Rising of the Star.

And we have got Sir Denar, who won the Fourteenth Crown
When Duke Lloyd and Duke Inman YIELDED in the final round!
The shouts went up to Heaven, and echoes near and far,
"VIVAT! FOR ANSTEORRA AND THE RISING OF THE STAR!"

Additional verse attributed to Master Cadfan ap Morgan

The bards of Ansteorra strive for authenticity
So they sing you Irish drinking songs of the 18th century
Dah dum dee dah dah dee dum, dee dah dum dum dee dum
Bah dee dah dum dum dee dah at the Rising of the Star!

                                  ATYC
                (Ansteorran Twentieth Year Celebration)
                         After the Ball Bardic
                        Friday Night: 11:00 p.m.
in front of the band stage down under the trees

It will be my privilege to host a gathering of singers, storytellers,
poets and other entertainers and performers following the Ball on Friday
                        night at Twentieth Year.
                           I need your help!
I'd like to present to the first 30 participants a commemorative
collection of Ansteorran favorites =96 songs, stories and poems.
I also issue a call to all titled bards past or present to immortalize
their place in Ansteorran lore by creating an original piece celebrating
the history of the branch they represent(ed) also to be included in the
commemorative collection. A copy of the collection is offered for your
                             contribution.
Time is short. Please notify me of what you believe should be included
in the collection. Please include as much information as you have: name
of composition, lyrics, music, copyright information, etc. I'll do my
best to fill in whatever is missing. (Disclaimer: I can't promise to
include everything submitted =96 there may be matters of copyright concer=
n
                    or simply editorial discretion)
Master Avatar of Catsprey and Baron Michael Silverhands have offered to
help by adding music to any recognized songs submitted. The =91bard book=
=92
will provide the initial pieces for our sharing at the gather.
Again, time is of the essence.
Your grateful servant,
