minstrel: Minstrel Weekend...

Greetings good Gentles!
             I am new to this list and the SCA as well. I started a year 
ago with the Incipient Shire of Von Spring (Lansing, MI). We will be 
attending Spring Fair at Ferren na Criche  (sp) (Bay City, MI) on 4/24/99.
              I offered to have singing practices start in my home last 
winter, as we thought it would be fun to go caroling through the local zoo 
in garb. Now we have continued to practice, and enjoy performing some music 
that is fun (probably not period). Are there any books you could suggest 
for a beginning singing group? I doubt that we will give up singing the 
baudy stuff, I would like to include some more period pieces that would 
also help improve our skill and technique.
