Herr Wilhelm, et al., let it be noted that there are functions of the
traditional bard which lie outside the direct description of
"entertainment". I was in attendance at the Ansteorran "Red Tape"
Event for a number of reasons, but several of those reasons
fulfill obligations I have placed upon myself in keeping with
ancient tradition (as best I understand it).

A short list of those functions I place here as reminder, and for
provocation of additional thought & inspirations. As bard & Bard,
on Saturday I carried out aspects including but not limited to:
Observer to power, speaker to power for the (relatively) powerless,
witness to history, linguistic resource, comic relief, news reporter,
news commentator, and otherwise general gadfly

Secondarily, yet remotely related, I also carried out a matter of
more private nature through which I endeavor to also serve
the Society: sold a blade (at reduced rate) for use as a prize
at an upcoming special tournament...

Not everyone might agree with my enumeration, or
characterization of what my presence accomplished.
So be it -- I make no claim of speaking for all, and no
specific claim of being authorized to speak for any
other specific individual. I do take my responsibilities
seriously, however, and do what I can along the Way,
and to enable others to find, and each in their own
style to serve & enjoy, their own Dream(s).

Amra, a.k.a. the Dreamsinger Bard (of the lineage of the Whyte Bard)
