All,
Since I joined the list a few weeks ago, I thought it would be best to
introduce myself.
At one point in my life I was a professional musician. I have sung in
Chamber Choirs, madrigal groups, Barber Shop quartets, acappella groups,
played bass and sang lead/backup vocals in jazz-pop-rock groups, lots of
studio time, song and vocal arranger, MIDI Tech, and the obligatory tour
with road bands. I've been known to play guitar and keys, but only when I
have to.
I am a first tenor with a lyric tenor head tone (when my allergies don't get
in the way). I'm not a great guitarist but I can hold my own with some
practice.
All this is leading to my desire to be able to play and sing some stuff at
some of the fairs, the campfire after a long day of fighting, and stuff like
that. I have done some looking around and I think that "Lark's Travel
Guitar" from Lark in the Morning might be just the trick since there is no
way I will be able to afford any kind of cittern. I'm sure that there is no
way my acoustic bass could be considered "in period" by any stretch of the
imagination. :)
Any thoughts on choice of instruments for a guitar playing tenor?
Thanks,
Fredric the Nebulous
