With regards to your search for a historical harp, may I highly recommend
to you Lynn Lewandowski? She specializes in just the sort of harp you
need: small, tightly strung, based on surviving instruments, with careful
attention to detail and woodworking. I own two of her wirestrung models,
and several members of my household have been playing her harps (both
wirestrung and gothic) for about twenty years now.
I don't know if this is current, but a recent address:

I'm not aware of a kit that would yield the sort of harp you seek, though
MusicMakers has a good reputation:
http://www.musikit.com/harps.htm will get you their harp page.
Might I suggest that, given your name, a wire harp may be more appropriate
to your persona? I'd be happy to discuss the merits of wire vs. gut vs.
nylon with you, either via list or private email.
