It seems to me that this is a sensitive subject.  I believe that an attempt 
at
peiodness should accompany all efforts in SCA.  I alos believe that for
competition there should be some standard of periodness expected and 
expressed
in documentation.  For a song/story to be shared for entetainment value 
only
then a thing that does not disturb the peoiod effect should be sufficient.  
I
have often perfromed for entertainment value at feasts and gatherings, and 
in
such venues I have never been asked for a shred of documentation (nor felt
that it was expected).  Entertainment is a different world from 
Competition.
IF you wish only the entertainment =value of your performance to be noticed
then please stay soely with entertainment.
