minstrel: Aesop

Greetings, my friends....
I understand that Aesop could be appropriate for many people,
hailing from 6th century BC (according to my dictionary), but I
was wondering ifanyone had seen any concrete citation for
Aesop or his fables in Ireland prior to 1200? I'm trying to decide
if I can use him as a source for stories. I'm sure I could come up
with some sort of conjecture... but I'm looking for a spefic instance
(so I don't have to say "I think so...", I can say "Yes, in the Book
of the Dun Cow, there's a retelling of the Fox and the Grapes."
Not that I'm lacking for source, mind you, I could read the Tain
most of the day and still feel refreshed (laughing) or stories from
the Bible... but I'm looking for another kind of tale.
Thanks!
