Precisely the point! Bards, jonglures, fooles, magi, rogues, and
even Norse Skalds such as myself often wore specific costumes or
particular details to their clothing in their own periods, (Such as the
traditional 15th century foole, or the Skald appointed for Odin in the
seventh century.)
Many of our performers want an overview of cultures and how the
Bards dressed in their period.
Also, there is the practical side to be considered. I have seen a
young lady show up in the World's Tightest Corset to sing at a campfire.
She passed out after about three songs....
