Greetings and salutations! I also was there, received
challange, and have this to share- Perhaps the meter is none so good as
m'Lord Owen's, but one must start somewhere! =) This poem was written in
tribute to our weekly Wednesday night meetings in Nordskogen:
Wednesday Nights
Quietly we file in,
Our day-weary souls asleep,
As through our mundane lives we creep
Surrounded by the modern din.
But here the gowns and crowns we see,
Eyes are bright, and garb is too!
For 'tis the old things that are new
In this, our Society.
Here we dance in wantonry,
Here our victories are won,
Here our greatest deeds are done,
Here our spirits are set free!
And when at last the night is done,
And modern wear we don once more,
We hold the old times to our core,
As we file out, one by one.
