Really?  I'd like to know how this tune has been dated back that far!

Boethian Notation is the only notation that I am aware was being used in 
that time period, and as far as I know it was not being used in the 
British Isles.  Boethius' works were not widely spread until the 7th 
century, Chaucer was the first to translate one of his books into English.
