Greetings gentles,
It seems I have made a bit of a faux pas, and I'd like to repent of my
sins. I seem to have left the impression that Oertha has a poor bardic
tradition. This is definitely *not* the case. While I am a new player up
here in Winter's Gate, I have already heard stories and praise of the
Oerthan bards. I know that almost everyone here loves to sing, and a
bardic circle I'm sure would never lack for people. However, my location
(and lack of suitable transportation) has me somewhat locked into place,
and there are not many 'bards' that I have found while asking around more
veteran members here, at least none that still sing or live here (if
anyone out there knows anyone in the Winter's Gate area, *please* send
them my way). I have recieved wonderful help from many people, but I am
basically learning all this by myself and whoever I can grab to converse
with out there on the 'net. Furthermore, I have yet to make an actual
'event' :( , but from what I hear they are larger than I was led to
believe, but even then there won't be one (that I know of) that would be
condusive to a true 'bardic circle' for at least several months.
Thank you all those who wrote back, and I apologize. If anything *else*
is wrong, please tell me. Other comments, hints, money (I'm a college
student, I could always use money ;) ) are also appreciated.

Greetings to you all.
Although it will be some time before we have a large enough event up here
in the cold northlands of Oertha that would be large enough to truly
consider it, I would like to find out what hosting a bardic circle really
entails. What have you found to be the best way to start it up? Do you
simply sit down with some friends, start singing, and hope people join? Or
is their some sort of minister one should talk to? What works best when?
And how do you keep control over the whole thing without choking the life
out of it?
All replies are greatly welcome and appreciated.
