Greetings and salutations to the makers of music an bringers of joy,
I am writing as a newbie from the far northern Barony of Winter's Gate. I
am but a poor college student who loves to act, sing, and tell stories and
poems. I am nowhere near the level of many bards and minstrels, I'm sure,
but I'm trying desperately to learn. Is there anyone in Oertha who can
give advice to a struggling minstrel looking for guidance and help?
I am also not sure about ettiquette in using songs and stories that are
truly grand, but were created by other bards, more talented than myself.
While I understand that I would never wish to have my songs stolen, I
would also want my songs to live on. Are not the songs of historical
bards songs of other, real people (simply dead?). I am being torn up
inside by this ethical dilemma. How do other people feel about this:
When is it right to use another's songs and when is it not?
:/
