Greetings, friends!

Here's the Folklore du jour...


Dig at the base of a tree which was struck by lightning immediately after the
storm has passed -- you will find the thunderbolt.  Thunderbolts are
walnut-sized, look like melted glass, and are very lucky.  Dig quickly, or a
groundhog will eat the prize before you are able to recover it!



BTW, some people have asked me where these things come from.  I collect bits
of folklore, superstition, proverbs, and such.  Not all of them are period,
but I especially look for ones that are.  If you have some folklore or short
tales you'd like to share, please feel free!
