Yaakov wanders how one goes about forming a period bardic circle.
I find that the best way to encourage people who do a wonderful rendetion
of "Steeleye Stan song X" to use that wonderful voice to do more period
songs is to sing one myself. Usually after doing a period number at a
bardic circle, the next several performers tend to "stay in the mood" and
follow with a period, or more period sounding song. This does not
guarantee you a "period circle", but it does tend to give you a nice
variety. Personally, I find that a mix of period songs, plus songs that
may not be period but do add to the "feel" of the event, usually turns
out to be a great night of song.
