 I agree that it was cruel and uncalled for. 
There are two ways to deal with people who know less than we do. One is 
to kick them until they go away and needn't be dealt with.
The other is to extend a friendly hand.
When people feel attacked they are not very inclined to take up their 
attackers opinion.......they usually begin to cling to what has been 
attacked. The best way to foster more period music is not to attack those 
who do not perform it.....but to encourage those who make ANY type of 
attempt!
