Now that the flames have subsided, I would like to know two things:

Where do you hear period songs in the SCA? I am a great fan of early
music (the earlier the better), and when I first joined the Society,
I also signed up for Collegium Musicum at my college. I was surprised
to find that no one in my group was interested in period music; of course,
in that group, no one did music much except at the mythical post-revels.
(Mythical because I've only been to one in all my years.)

Now, when my new group had a wonderful little tourney set in the 13th
century, I was accepted with joy when I asked if I could sing some songs
in that period. And it went over well. But I kept expecting someone
else to be doing this stuff too. But no. I'm told it's all to be heard
at the post-revels. Is this just a Middle Kingdom thing, or are there
places where you can hear music without going to Pennsic?

Maureen, who was shocked to hear that all the Celtish bards I met at the
Irish event hadn't even _heard_ of _From the Banks of Helicon_. Not to
mention albums of songs in Middle English. (And I filk a lot at SF cons.
But then there's music there....)
