I didn't want to post all that stuff on the list (it may have been a
plug, but it wasn't a shameless one!). But since I've been asked:
send check or money order to
Matthew Newsome
1155 Dick's Creek Rd
Whittier NC 28789
tape and book cost $10, and it shouldn't be more than 1.50 S&H. If it
is more, I'll pay it, if less, I'll send change. (Next time I'm at the
PO, I'll chech what it will be, and let anyone interested know for
sure). Just so you know what you are getting into, I am an independant
artist working to help pay for events and things so I can still stay
active in teh SCA during college. Please do not make copies of my tape.
(I will permit copies of specific pages of teh songbook as long as it is
for educational purposes, not for mass distribution, and if I am given
credit on teh page.) The songs themselves are not copyrighted, and all
are period or close to period. Here is a song list:
BORDERLINE, by Eogan MacLaren
1. The Elfine Knight
2. The Daemon Lover
3. The Broom of the Cowden Knowes (no, not the version everyone is
familiar with)
4. Bruton Town
5. Jock O'Braideslee
6. Little Musgrave (performed more as a story than a song)
7. Captain Ward and the Rainbow
8. William o Winesbury
9. The Auld Man He Came O'er the Lee
10. I Once Loved A Lass
Which reminds me, in teh song notes for I Once Loved A Lass, I wrote that
I saw it first in a song book a LONG time ago and am 95% sure it was
medieval or close to it. But I no longer have that song book, and do not
remember the title, although I THINK it was one of Ewan MacColls. If
anyone knows the date of the song, please let me know for sure. Thank you.
Aye,
Eogan
