*Bright*Day*Star:*Music*for*the*Yuletide*Season by the Baltimore Consort
has 20 tracks total. 3 are pre-1600, 9 are 1600-1651, and the rest are
later than that.
The Wren Song: text and music Irish traditional. The booklet says that
John Langstaff learned it from oral tradition in Ireland and then
published it in his _Christmas_Revels_Songbook_, 1985.
The first verse goes:
The wren, the wren the king of all birds,
St. Stephens Day was caught in the forest;
Although he was little, his honour was great,
Jump up, me lads, and give us a treat.
And I mis-remembered on which CD the Fox Went Out is on. It's not on
this one, but it's on *The*Daemon*Lover*.
