Does anyone have any ideas about the dice mentioned below?

What can you tell me about Victorian dice games that involved five tiny dice
kept in a small 2" tall cylinder with a cap? I have one made in 1896 by the
Whiting Manufacturing Company, sterling, with three initials engraved in the
lid/cap. Inside are five tiny handpainted dice, either ivory or wood. I'd
like to find out exactly what they were used for - poker dice by gamblers?
some type of parlor game?
Any info you can provide me will be GREATLY appreciated.
