What I'd like > to know is whether anyone has ever compliled a list of "historic" > beer styles, and their supposed dates and places of origin? To put a bit of twist on this, what would be better would be a list of styles, their supposed dates and places of origin, and a list of primary sources that talk about them. Most such lists turn out to be garbage, because you have no idea what source is involved, much less if it's true or fabrication or misunderstanding or whatever. Most of these primary sources would probably not be "cookbooks", they would be literary references or guild records or whatever. -- Greg ------------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, send email to majordomo@pbm.com containing the words "unsubscribe hist-brewing" (or unsubscribe hist-brewing-digest, if you get the digest.)
