try a regular wine filter.  It's reasonable fast, leave it nice and clear 
and a small on that sits on top of the carboy is about $20, mines a 
vinfilter and works quite well, on meads and wines.

Paper filters, I have found, are either dreadfully slow, or dont work at
all...   I have not tried any beer filter devices...
