hist-brewing: first batch

Ok, I'm getting ready to make my first batch, and as with all first
endeavors, I'm entranced with visions of a spectacular result, wowing
friends and family with my brewing wonder.  anywhoo

Actually, I'm looking to make a light sparkling honey mead, and was curious
if anyone had any suggestions?
