Cray Henry will speak on Performance Modeling as it impacts the
selection process for large scale computer systems which is relevant to
HPC, Data Mining and many other computaional intensive systems. Cray
manages a quarter of a billion dollar budget and has almost one billion
dollars worth of computing systems in his program. If you can't make to

Speakers: Mr. Cray J. Henry is the Director of the Department of Defense
(DOD) High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) under the
direction of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Science and
Technology) (DUSD[S&T]). Abstract: Cray will describe the process that
the HPCMO uses to model the performance of supercomputers they consider
for purchase.

The Department of Defense (DoD) High Performance Computing Modernization
Program's (HPCMP) mission is to deliver world-class commercial,
high-end, high performance computational capability to the DoD's science
and technology (S&T) and test and evaluation (T&E) communities,
facilitating the rapid application of advanced technology into superior
warfighting capabilities. The DoD HPCMP is a coordinated initiative to
develop and subsequently sustain, complete and balanced HPC environments
based on user requirements
