We're fine. Our dance track was completely unaffected. I guess there's
something to be said about offering tracks at University after University
after University after all. :)

Our Schedule:
115 Simple 15th C. Italian Dance (Rowen ferch Rhys) - This class will
introduce dancers to the dance repertoire of 15th Century Italy. Focus will
be on introductory dances such as Gelosia, Petit Vriens, and Anello. No
experience needed.
215 Intro to 16th Cy Italian Dance -- Partner Swapping Dances (Katherine
Mercer) - Think Italian dances are stuffy and hard? Think again. We'll do
two or three easy and low impact Italian dances (mostly done with walking
steps) which involve partner swapping or "poaching."
315 Gracca Amorosa - A 16th Century Italian Cascarda (Bryan Morgan) -
Cascarde were light, quick, fun, showy, playful dances for couples from the
Italian master Fabritio Caroso. This moderately-simple cascarda is a great
introduction to 16th Century Italian dance, and those with more experience
will find it quick and enjoyable as well. No experience with 16th C. Italian
dance is necessary, and all steps will be taught." (Intermediate Level)
415 Simple Mimed Bransles (Ellen of York) - Bransles are the simplest of the
known renaissance dances. Mimed bransles are easy to learn, and introduce
the more common bransle steps with a bit of interplay between the partners
using steps unique to each dance. (Introductory Level)
515 Introductory English Country Dance (Evelynne Merrymet) - We will be
doing some introductory dances to learn the steps, but will focus on new
dances that haven't been taught at recent Universities such as Upon a
Summer's Day, New Boe Peep, Gathering Peascods, and Hit or Miss.
615 Advanced English Country Dance (Stefan of Cambion) - These dances will
still have the siding and arming you are familiar with but the choruses are
more interesting. Dances will include Whirligig and Picking of Sticks.
(Intermediate Level)

>>Good Gentles,
>>
>>Thanks to all of you for coordinating tracks for the upcoming University
>>session. I had lots of very hard decisions in scheduling the classes this
>>time. I was not able to schedule many of the classes offered, despite
>>having
>>a fair sized site.
>>
>>This message is to remind you of a number of things and ask that you
>>please
>>relay this message to the other teachers in your track.
>>
>>University classes begin on the hour in the morning and on the half hour
>>in
>>the afternoon. As in modern universities, our hour classes are really only
>>50 minutes in length. Please be considerate of students who need to get to
>>another class and the teachers who follow you in your classroom. Wrap up
>>your presentation at 10 minutes before the hour in the morning and 20
>>minutes past the hour in the afternoon.
>>
>>It might be a good idea to share teacher contact information at the
>>beginning for the class so that students may reach you later. This often
>>is
>>forgotten in the rush at the end of class.
>>
>>Remember to pick up your class roster from the Registrar. Be sure that all
>>students either check off their names, if they are pre-registered, or fill
>>in SCA and legal names if they are not pre-registered. The roster must be
>>returned to the Registrar before the end of the day. Rosters are the
>>mechanism used to award University credit. Failure to complete and return
>>them causes problems.
>>
>>Thanks again for your help.
