Please forgive the lateness of this input, it never sank in that the impending deadline for classes for October was RIGHT NOW!
I have three dance classes for you which will be taught by members of the Academie.
Since you are likely facing an early submission deadline yourself, I will not complicate matters any by asking for time to identify which Academie members will teach which class. You can list *me* as the instructor for each of these, or you can list the instructors as coming from "L'Academie Atantienne de la Danse". We *will* be able to provide you a complete list of instructors very shortly, but probably not before you will have to send your catalog to the Kingdom Chronicler for inclusion in the September =Acorn=.
If there *is* a little bit of slack in your schedule such that you *can* accept out instructor information in the next week or two, please let me know. Also, there is the possibility that we can teach 2 or 3 more classes if you need to fill out your schedule. Again, let me know and we'll get it done! :)
Again, my sincere apologies for the lateness of this submission.
In your service,
// Vard //
Lord Edvard Gayer, Secretary
L'Academie Atlantienne de la Danse
--------Class Information Follows--------
Introduction to English Country Dance (Instructor) This class will introduce dancers to the world of English Country Dances and the works of John Playford. Students will learn the basic steps and patterns common to most English Country Dances, and several easy-to-learn dances which are frequently done in the SCA will be taught. (Beginners welcome)
Intermediate English Country Dance (Instructor) Building upon the basics learned in the previous class, several dances not commonly done at events from Playford will be taught. They will be similar to the familiar ones, but will expand your repertoire. Dances may include Picking of Sticks, Hyde Park, Chestnut, Grimstock, Nonesuch, Whirligig, and Newcastle. (Beginners welcome, enrollment in the previous class NOT required)
Introduction to 15th Century Italian Dance (Instructor) Seductive, flirtatious, and not terribly complicated, those Italians were really onto something! Come learn all about the latest style of dance that is sweeping the SCA. Possible dances to be taught include Amoroso, Gelosia, Petits Vriens, Petite Rose, Lauro, and Rostiboli Gioioso. (Beginners welcome)
