Description

This is an overall strategic/operational wargame for the American Civil War, concentrated entirely in the Western Theater. The game begins in September, 1861 (when the Confederates violated Kentucky's neutrality) and ends by September, 1864 (when Atlanta fell to the Union forces).

Each turn will last roughly two weeks, except during the game months of November-March, during which turns will cover 2 and 1/2 weeks each.

At the end of the final turn, the side with the higher point value will be declared the winner.

Points are amassed at both the team level and the personal level, and can be gained either by the capture of cities (including capitals), or by the defeat or capture of enemy forces, or both. Points can also be lost at the team and personal level through the loss of cities, the loss of battles to the enemy, or both.

The game setup consists of four to five Confederate players and four Union players, each controlling one military department. At some random point during the game, both the Confederate and Union governments will consolidate their forces into one department. At that time, the player with the highest point value will become the head of this one department, and can dole out the military forces within as he chooses.

Presently, there is a need for four (4) Union players, in order to restart the existing game (it is presently December, 1861). To join up, please contact the GM (Dan) at usarecruiter@hotmail.com. A copy of the rules will be provided.
