We are a group of people with many varied interests and backgrounds who come together to write "letters" to each other via our email group, masquerading as certain characters, famous and not famous. What types of characters are allowed? Just about any kind of imaginable human being can be a character in the Creative Letter Guild. Categories include everything from historical figures to uniquely created, more "un-famous" characters. What are the possibilities? Endless! For example, in the Creative Letter Guild, you can expect interesting conversations such as Anastasia Romanov and Jimmy Hoffa discussing their whereabouts, Scarlett O'Hara and Colonel Sanders comparing fried chicken recipes, or Jimmy Stewart and Brad Pitt debating changes in the movie industry. Or on the same token, you can create an "un-famous" character - perhaps an art curator of a museum - and write letters to any other active character. Serious, funny, debating, romantic, thought-provoking - all subjects are possible letter topics. What is the purpose of the Creative Letter Guild? Our #1 priority is to have fun. However, being a member of this group comes with some great advantages. You can brush up on your creative writing skills, meet new friends, and learn many new things. How can I join? There are two easy ways to join the guild. You can visit the main group here and from there you can click "Join This Group." You will receive the application and character profile promptly in your email inbox. Or, you can send an email directly to creativeletterguild-subscribe@yahoogroups.com and the same procedure will follow. You must submit your application and the character profile for approval. You will be notified within 12-48 hours of your acceptance to the group.
