Description

The Winds of Limbo howl...

And you find yourself far from home in a strange, timeless place. Welcome to the Nexus, the magical gateway to the wondrous world of Atlantis. Six shining gateways surround you, each of them leading to a different city in the world beyond. Walk through any one of them, but beware - for once you step out from the Nexus, you will not be able to find your way back.

You are not alone here. Rather, there are numerous people - warriors, magicians, explorers and traders. You sense the weight of destiny on all here, and you know that you have been brought here for some purpose- but what can it be?

Excitement is in the air here. Rumors fly back and forth between those brought here concerning the world nearby. Real knowledge is rare - the impassive, impressive Atlantis City Guards (here for the protection of you all, you are told) - will not answer any questions, nor confirm or deny any rumors. You gather, however, that the world you are about to enter is full of dangers large and small, and that the services of people such as yourself are desperately needed.

Finally, you know it is time to go - but which gate shall it be? Will your path take you to a throne, riches, glory, knowledge, - or are you just following a shortened path to the grave? You cannot know, but you step to the gate of your choice. You step through a wall of shimmering light, feel an instant of vertigo, and u pon hearing the crash of waves on the nearby shore you know that you have entered... Atlantis.

Comments (from the player adding this record):

A long running Atlantis game (180+ turns). It seems to be still stable. Uses the Atlantis 4.10k version.

The website is a bit outdated. Still it's usefull to check out at least the Rules, FAQ and Times sections.

There are still many (20+) long established players some of whom are willing to help new factions with resources, advice. Recently there have been several players joining the game. Imo a good place to start learning using Atlantis.

The political situation: Some would say there is a dominant alliance in the world, others wouldn't agree. :-)
